A Thrill Of Hope.

“And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Romans‬ ‭5:5‬ 

‭The lyrics A Thrill of Hope, The Weary World Rejoices have been stuck in my head. The deeper I read into it I understood those lyrics we all know and love at Christmas time. Thrill means a sudden feeling of excitement and pleasure, and Hope means, a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Trying to imagine a world without Jesus is something that seems not only impossible but difficult. I can just imagine the joy that came across the world that lonely night, imagine how the world felt before the light of Jesus came down. Today's world seems so weary, we are all constantly tired, and the world has become completely hateful. If you are feeling weary, remind yourself of the thrill of hope found in Jesus. He isn't only here at Christmas, He is here year around. Today focus on the hope and joy of Jesus, it can last year around for you. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭ “And his name will be the hope of all the world.”” Matthew‬ ‭12:21‬ “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:12‬ ‭ “But I will keep on hoping for your help; I will praise you more and more.”Psalms‬ ‭71:14‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
