Did Mary Know?
““But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”” Luke 2:49
We can come to Jesus because He came to us. From the moment Jesus was born, even in the womb, He knew what His purpose was, and how important it was to follow through on it. He knew that all of humanity depended on Him to save us. The question is though, did Mary know? When she held her precious baby boy did she know that she was holding the Savior for all of humanity? He was going to save those who were yet born, heal the sick, and raise the dead. All moms think that their child is perfect, that is how a mom is, but did she understand the depth of how amazing He really was? Did she look at Him and know that He would save her soul and everyone around her? Did she understand the meaning of who she was truly raising? I wonder about things like that. The song about this is so deep because it's something we all question, but an even bigger question is whether we understand who Jesus truly is? Do we know that He is the only way to Heaven? Do we try to understand each part of His story or do we only recognize the big parts? Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!”” Luke 1:28 ““Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God!” Luke 1:30 “He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David.” Luke 1:32 “Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.” Luke 1:38
