Did Mary Know?

““But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”” Luke‬ ‭2:49‬ ‭

We can come to Jesus because He came to us. From the moment Jesus was born, even in the womb, He knew what His purpose was, and how important it was to follow through on it. He knew that all of humanity depended on Him to save us. The question is though, did Mary know? When she held her precious baby boy did she know that she was holding the Savior for all of humanity? He was going to save those who were yet born, heal the sick, and raise the dead. All moms think that their child is perfect, that is how a mom is, but did she understand the depth of how amazing He really was? Did she look at Him and know that He would save her soul and everyone around her? Did she understand the meaning of who she was truly raising? I wonder about things like that. The song about this is so deep because it's something we all question, but an even bigger question is whether we understand who Jesus truly is? Do we know that He is the only way to Heaven? Do we try to understand each part of His story or do we only recognize the big parts? Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!”” Luke‬ ‭1:28‬ ‭ ““Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God!” Luke‬ ‭1:30‬ ‭ “He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David.” Luke‬ ‭1:32‬ ‭ “Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.” Luke‬ ‭1:38‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
