Joy Can Last Forever.

“but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” Luke‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭

The Christmas season is all about joy, I mean we even sing songs about it, but where does that joy come from? We often hear from our family, friends, the gifts, and even all the decor but it's from something deeper than that. The joy we feel around Christmas can be felt all throughout the year. I haven't felt the joy of Christmas the last few Christmases I realized that I haven't felt that joy, due to feeling it all year. The kind of joy found at Christmas wasn't found through a gift, decor, or even being surrounded by people we care about and love, it was found in a manger over 2000 years ago. The joy we seek is something we can keep, we can carry through each month of the year if we seak joy in Christ. Today, ensure you're looking for the joy you need in Christ where it never leaves. His joy lasts in all seasons. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.” James‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭ “I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!” John‬ ‭15:11‬ ‭ “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” Philippians‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭ “You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.” John‬ ‭16:24‬ ‭

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
