The Reason For The Season.

“They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger.” Luke‬ ‭2:16‬ 

‭Christmas time is here. During this time we are normally busy with Christmas shopping, planning when we are doing Christmas with our families, decorating, and buying decorations that we forget the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas isn't about the present, the decorations, or where we spend it, it's about our Savior being born and celebrating Jesus. Remember the true meaning of this season that being Jesus. Jesus was born in a manger where the sheep would eat what today would be like a trough for food. He wasn't born in a crib or a bed, He was born in a barn surrounded by animals, shepherds, angels, and His mother and Joseph. Today, remind yourself why you are celebrating, it isn't about the most beautiful tree and decorations, it isn't about the presents under the tree, or even what you have to eat that day, it's about Jesus. It's all about Jesus. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child.” Luke‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭ “but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” Luke‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭ “And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”” Luke‬ ‭2:12‬ ‭ “The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.” Luke‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
