Rest In Him!

 “When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.” Mark‬ ‭4:39‬ ‭

In the story when a storm was coming Jesus slept through it, not because He wasn't fearful of the storm, not because He didn't value the lives of His disciples, it was because He knew even in the moments like a storm who was in control. You never have to worry when you know that the same God who created you is in control of all circumstances. He knows what you need and when you need it. When life seems to be a worlwind know that God is still in control. I've always been scared of storms, ever since I experienced an F5 tornado about 5 miles from my house. I began to pray that God would heal me from that fear. I had a dream one night that I was in my house and a tornado was headed straight for me, my family and I began to pray and the tornado turned the other way and left. When I woke up I realized the same God that created the storm could stop it. We have no need to fear, weather or circumstances when the one in control is the same God we serve. Today, trust in God through it all, He will never let you down. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?””Mark‬ ‭4:38‬ ‭ “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭ “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
