Who You Marry Matters!

“and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one,” Mark‬ ‭10:8‬ ‭

I read the book of Ruth recently, and as you get to the end it reads off her lineage. It goes on to show her great-grandson was King David. People will tell you it doesn't matter who you marry and have kids with but it does matter. Ruth' husband had passed away, but she was loyal and kind to her mother-in-law and stayed by her side, She met Boaz and they got married. Now she could have said no to her mother-in-law's wishes to go for Boaz but she was faithful. Sometimes God sends people to help you connect with who you are meant to be with. You can chase someone, date, and even marry someone who is not meant for you but your life will suffer from that wrong choice. I've always heard you cannot choose who you love and while that is true you can choose who you build a family and life with. Never settle for less than what God has for you. Today, remind yourself that it does matter to God who you end up with, who knows how prosperous your lineage could be. Here are some verses to reflect on today. ““May the Lord bless him!” Naomi told her daughter-in-law. “He is showing his kindness to us as well as to your dead husband. That man is one of our closest relatives, one of our family redeemers.”” Ruth‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭ “Obed was the father of Jesse. Jesse was the father of David.” Ruth‬ ‭4:22‬ ‭ “This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:24‬ ‭ “For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her” Ephesians‬ ‭5:25‬ ‭
