Mind Your Business.

“Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭

We have all heard the phrase "Mind your own business." The Bible teaches us that actually is what we are meant to do. Something I've noticed over time is when people are more focused on other's lives their lives end up in a huge mess, like a ball of yard all twisted up and confused. The reasoning for that is because how can you focus on what you're meant to do, say, and how you're supposed to act when you don't have time to worry about someone else's life. Today, remind yourself that your relationship with God needs to be what you're focusing on, not on someone else and what they're doing. We cannot spend our lives focused on someone else and expect to achieve all that we want to. Our time must be spent on our relationship with Christ and walking in the ways He tells us to. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭ “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”Proverbs‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭ “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭ “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:58‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
