Run From Sin.

“Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.” Romans‬ ‭6:12‬ 

‭The thing about sin is that it will take you further when you want to go. We are all tempted, maybe not in the same ways but we each are. The thing about the enemy is that he will make it out like doing something you know is right is okay. The enemy is a lie. Giving into that sin isn't going to help free you from it, it's going to give the enemy room to grow roots to that sin inside you. Have you ever heard the expression If you give them an inch they will take a mile? That is how sin is. If you give in a little room inside of you, it will grow until you think nothing of it. You have to remind yourself that God gives us a way out of sin, but we have to be willing to take it. You cannot cling to sin while asking God to free you from it. The Bible says, resist the enemy and he will flee. You are able to overcome sin. Today, let go of sin and run from it. Don't let sin take you further than you want to go. Let Jesus free you and tell the enemy no! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭ “Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.”James‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭ “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.” Romans‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭ “Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.” Romans‬ ‭6:13‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
