Self-care With God.
“But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.” Matthew 6:6
Self-care is so important, it comes in many different forms but my favorite type of self-care is to spend time with God. It restores my strength, energy, hope, faith, and even my joy. We can spend time with ourselves but it is most important to spend alone time with God. This verse tells us we should go to a room alone to pray, and sometimes it's hard to find time for ourselves, but it is important to do so. We get so caught up in life that we forget to make time for God. Today, remind yourself to make time for God and to spend time alone in prayer. It can restore you and uplift you. Time with God is so important and one of the most valuable things in life. Instead of spending time alone, try spending time with God! That is better than time to yourself. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16 “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6:18 “The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.” Psalms 27:4
