Focused On Jesus!

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭

I was playing a video game against other players earlier, and I realized when I would take my eyes off what I was doing to see what place I was in so far I would mess up. It's the same way in life. If we constantly compare our journeys to others taking our eyes off our journey, then we will never win in our own life. Our eyes have to be on Jesus at all times. I know I recently talked about Jesus and Peter waking on the water, but it reminded me that Peter took His eyes off Jesus and began to sink into the water in that story. That is the reality of life today, when our eyes are taken off Jesus we begin to sink. Today, keep your eyes fully on Jesus. I know there are many distractions in life, but we must stay focused. Your vision cannot be in multiple places at once, but on the real prize, that being your relationship with God. We've all heard the expression to keep our eyes glued to something, and that is exactly what we have to do! Keep your eyes glued to Jesus and His purpose for you! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.” Hebrews‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭ ““Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light.” Matthew‬ ‭6:22‬ ‭ “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭ ““And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?” Matthew‬ ‭7:3‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
