Keep Asking!

““Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew‬ ‭7:7‬ ‭

One day you will smile and say, "I know it was you, God." I was reading the Bible today and ended up in Matthew 7, as I read the verse above it stuck with me all day. I realized that just because I ask God once and get no answer doesn't mean it's a no. Now I'm one of those who tend to ask God for a sign, but when I don't receive it I assume it means a "no". After thinking about this verse I realized that sometimes I need to keep asking, if it is a no God will show me that. God isn't someone who just lets us dream of things for years and then tells us no. I feel like if we truly bring a dream to God with an open heart willing to take whatever He gives us, He will answer us. Sometimes God's silence isn't a no, instead, it isn't time for you to know the answer. Today, keep asking for whatever it is you want to know, have, or want. God will eventually give you the answer. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew‬ ‭7:8‬ ‭ ““And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Luke‬ ‭11:9 ‬ ‭ “asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.” Ephesians‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭ “You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.”John‬ ‭16:24‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
