Set An Example!

“Do to others as you would like them to do to you.” Luke‬ ‭6:31‬ ‭

How you choose to treat others doesn't reflect how they've treated you, instead, it reflects your relationship with God. If you come across rude, judgmental, arrogant, and other things you will be seen as someone "mean". Rather than if you were to come across as loving, caring, compassionate, forgiving, and kind that would show others the true ways of God. We have to remind ourselves that we do not have a reputation of our own, we also represent Christianity. When someone treats us poorly we should instead treat them with kindness. Today, choose to be the best representation of Jesus that you can be. Treat others how you wish to be treated, not how they treat you. Jesus always chose to be kind in every circumstance and we should too. We are the ones who set the example of Christianity in this day and age. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.” Philippians‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭ “My life is an example to many, because you have been my strength and protection.” Psalms‬ ‭71:7‬ ‭ “Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭ “If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also.” Luke‬ ‭6:29‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
