The Right Friends!
“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” John 15:12
I remember when I was younger I often times found myself embarrassed over my faith. At times I felt like an outcast because I didn't do things the other kids had done. I finally realized that maybe I wasn't meant to fit in, but instead to show others what Jesus was about. I stopped trying to look cool and instead let Jesus speak through me. I know others have struggled with this wether it be your friends at school, friends in the youth group, people at work, or honestly anyone. You can often times feel yourself hiding that part of you more and more. I have come to realize that either someone can love me for who I am as a Christian, or they can not love me at all. If they cannot respect me enough to not make light of what I believe in, then they arent the kind of friends I need. Although Jesus hung out with the outcasts and sinners, He never changed Himself to be like them. Today, ask yourself, would you rather fit in with the world or have an eternity with Jesus? Which is more valuable to you. You cannot be lukewarm. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Revelation 3:16 “Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” Psalms 34:14 ““But be careful. Don’t let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the Lord and serve and worship other gods.”Deuteronomy 11:16 “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.” Proverbs 13:20
