Do Your Part!

“Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭

Do your best and God will do the rest. When we want something in life we must ask ourselves if we are doing out part first. We cannot expect God to do everything for us. We each have a part to do ourselves, something we can work for. It's like this, when we were in school the teacher taught us what we needed to know, gave us a study guide, and even handed us our test, but we were the ones who had to take time to study to pass the test. The teacher could show us what we needed to study and even tell us what we needed to know but we have to choose to study and remember it. Today, make sure you're doing your part. When God sees us making an effort He will do the rest for us. We have a part to do in everything. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭ “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”Proverbs‬ ‭16:9‬ ‭ “Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭ “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
