God Has Called You!
“If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”” Esther 4:14
The story of Esther is something I've written about a lot, but it's also one of my favorite stories in the Bible. Esther was a common person, living a common life until God called her to be the queen. She then went on to save not only all of the Jews around her but her family, which were the Jews. She was afraid, in an unknown place but brave and called of God. She was called for such a time as this the Bible says. We are all called for something and will change the world in our own ways. There are so many lessons we can learn from the story, but today I wanted to remind you that Esther wasn't born knowing what God had called her to do. She wasn't the one who had the idea to try and be queen, all of the women needed to try out. We sometimes think we have to chase what we are called to be, but that is not true. If we will be the best people we can be, and do our part of what we are supposed to do in this moment, God will do the rest. Today, make sure you're doing your part and trusting God until the next chapter. God has a very special plan for your life, and He will use you in higher ways than you can even imagine. Even if you don't know what you're supposed to do you can count on the fact that you are called by God and He will show you what that calling is. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 “For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” Romans 8:29 ““For many are called, but few are chosen.”” Matthew 22:14 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”Ephesians 2:10
