Let The Light Shine!

“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” Ephesians‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭

We each have met someone that seemed as though their name should have been sunshine, they glowed so bright and you could feel the love of Jesus just being around them. We sometimes feel like everyone is watching our every move, and other times we feel unnoticed. We let off a glow that we cannot see but those around us cling to. That light is the light of Jesus shining through us. We might not see the light but it is there. Everyone needs encouragement sometimes and sometimes that light is exactly what they need. We can let that light shine through by being kind, loving, caring, and forgiving and telling others about Jesus. We can set an example to others through our words and existing if we let Jesus work through us. Today, let your light shine for all to see. Never let others make you feel like you need to hide it. Being a light for Jesus is one of the best things you can be. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.” John‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭ “The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.”‭‭John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭ “Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light.” After saying these things, Jesus went away and was hidden from them.” John‬ ‭12:36‬ ‭ “But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
