A Real Friend.

“There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs‬ ‭18:24‬ ‭

We all pray to have friends we can surround ourselves with. We oftentimes feel like we will take any friend we can get, even if that means they aren't the best to us. We eventually learn to be picky with who we choose to be friends with. When we are picky with those we choose to surround ourselves with we will begin to notice how they uplift us, encourage us, and help us. A real friend will stick closer than a brother, they will sharpen your walk with God and they will never pull you away from Him. You will notice that they are there when you need someone, but they are also there for all the good times. They never leave you, that is a real friend. We can have a million friends in our lifetime, but we should have a few good friends instead. We shouldn't just take anyone in to be our friends. Today, be picky knowing you deserve real friends who really care about you, those who will uplift you and encourage you and help you grow in Jesus. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:17‬ ‭ “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.” Proverbs‬ ‭13:20‬ ‭ “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4:9‬ ‭ “Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.”Proverbs‬ ‭27:10‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
