A Real Friend.
“There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
We all pray to have friends we can surround ourselves with. We oftentimes feel like we will take any friend we can get, even if that means they aren't the best to us. We eventually learn to be picky with who we choose to be friends with. When we are picky with those we choose to surround ourselves with we will begin to notice how they uplift us, encourage us, and help us. A real friend will stick closer than a brother, they will sharpen your walk with God and they will never pull you away from Him. You will notice that they are there when you need someone, but they are also there for all the good times. They never leave you, that is a real friend. We can have a million friends in our lifetime, but we should have a few good friends instead. We shouldn't just take anyone in to be our friends. Today, be picky knowing you deserve real friends who really care about you, those who will uplift you and encourage you and help you grow in Jesus. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Proverbs 27:17 “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.” Proverbs 13:20 “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 “Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s. When disaster strikes, you won’t have to ask your brother for assistance. It’s better to go to a neighbor than to a brother who lives far away.”Proverbs 27:10
