Be More Like Jesus!

“Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭

I saw a quote today: "But, are they seeing Jesus in every part of me?" I sat and thought about that for a moment. When I'm mad because the person in front of me is driving too slow, the worker at the restaurant is taking too long, my family forgets to do a small task or small events that seem to disrupt our day, am I showing Jesus through me? See it's easy to show Jesus in the big events, like buying that new house, car, graduating, or getting married. It's easy to remember to remind everyone God blessed you, but in the moments of anger and frustration are we showing Jesus through us? I think about the personality Jesus had, He was kind, loving, compassionate but most of all forgiving. Today, when someone really irritates you instead of being rude smile and show them kindness, let them know that they are loved. We never see the impact our words can make on someone. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.” 1 John‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭ “Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭ “And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.” Galatians‬ ‭3:27‬ ‭ “For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”Romans‬ ‭8:29‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
