But Did You Pray About It?

“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:3‬ ‭

But did you pray about it? You might've talked to yourself about it, ranted to a friend, or asked advice from someone you trusted but did you pray and ask God about it? We live in a fast-paced world where we often make decisions and then question why God allows us to make the wrong one. God cannot make you do something, but He can give you the advice you need. That advice comes from prayer. We all make bad choices, that's a part of life. To not continue making bad choices we need to spend time in prayer, we need to ask God what is best for us. This verse tells us that God will say to us what to do if we go to Him about it. Today, take your time to make decisions, be slow at it. Take plenty of time to ask God what is best for your life. Just because we want something doesn't mean it is right for us. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” Romans‬ ‭8:26‬ ‭ ““I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.”Matthew‬ ‭18:19‬ ‭ “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” Mark‬ ‭11:24‬ ‭ “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
