Stop Running!

““If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?” Luke‬ ‭15:4‬ ‭

You're never too far gone. Think about the story of Jonah. He ran from God and his calling. He didn't want to go to Ninevah, but God caused a storm, not to destroy him but to change him. While in the belly of the well, Jonah realized he should give his full heart to God. You are called by God, each of us is. We have free will to choose to go to that calling or to run from it. When we choose wrong sometimes storms do come, other times we create those storms while running. Our choices sometimes lead us to a wall that we hit. We have to stop saying we will change someday, and change today. I remember a time in my life when I wasn't living the best, I knew better. I had straight away. I was really scared of tornados then. Everytime a storm would come I would say I was going to change out of fear. Later I did change, not because of a storm but because I realized I had been running. Today, stop running. Surrender to Jesus. Go after that calling on your life. Choose to do right. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord. He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to Tarshish.”Jonah‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭ “Now the Lord had arranged for a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights.” Jonah‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭ “When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’”Luke‬ ‭15:6‬ ‭ “In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!” Luke‬ ‭15:7‬ ‭
