The Pick Of The Patch.

“Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭

Have you ever been to the pumpkin patch? If so, you know how you go: You pick out the pumpkin you want and keep it. You take it home and carve it or paint it—it's up to you. That's how it is when God calls us, He finds us in the place we are. He takes us from the patch and renews us. This reminded me of the story where Jesus went up to Peter and Andrew and told them He would make them fishers of men. God found them on a boat doing their job of fishing. God doesn't wait until you have your entire life together to call you, He calls you from where you are. He knows that you were called before you were formed in your mother's womb. Today, let Jesus pick you from where you are and go follow Him. You are worthy of being called. He doesn't expect perfection, He is only looking for you to open yourself to change for the good. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭ “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” John‬ ‭15:16‬ ‭ “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭ ““I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.””Jeremiah‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
