Be A Light!

“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” Ephesians‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭

I live in the country, where the stars shine extra brightly at night. I was outside and looked up at them and realized that the same way the stars shine in the dark sky is how we shine as Christians in this dark world. We are here to remind others of the love, joy, strength, peace and hope that God is in our lives. We should remind those around us of how good God is. The more the world grows old the more hateful and mean things happen. The enemy is no longer hiding, it's everywhere. We have to choose to be the light and not be the darkness in this world. The Bible says that the light cannot be extinguished by the darkness. Today, don't let the bad in the world change who you are, and who you are shining for. Being a light in the dark world is so important. We all need to see more of it. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.”John‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭ “And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness.” Genesis‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭ “The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.” John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭ “If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.”” Luke‬ ‭11:36‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
