Forgive Yourself!
“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John 1:9
We think that forgiveness is meant for others or from God, but sometimes, it is forgiveness for ourselves. We cannot carry our baggage forever. Forgiving ourselves can often be one of the hardest battles for us, but it's something that is needed in life. If we carry the baggage of shame and guilt then we will never be who we are meant to be. The moment you ask God for forgiveness, He forgave you. Why would you think you're better than God to hold it against yourself? Today, when you feel ashamed, guilty or like you're carrying too much know that God forgave you when you gave your life to Him. Now it's your turn to forgive yourself. That sin is long forgotten and your forgiveness is here. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:15 “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”” Mark 11:25 “And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,” Ephesians 4:26 “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
