The Reason For The Season!

As Thanksgiving has ended and the Christmas season begins we can all rejoice. I love the Christmas season most of all! It's not about the gifts, music, food or decorations although I love those. It's about finding peace knowing Jesus was born to save us all. It's about the joy of God sending a child to save the world through Him giving His life for us. We are saved through Jesus. The Birth of Jesus is the most miraculous thing ever for us. He has saved us in every aspect. This Christmas season, while you enjoy everything that comes with it, don't forget the real reason for this season. That being Jesus, He is the reason we celebrate. This season is all about Jesus! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭ “And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”” Matthew‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭ “And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born.” Luke‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭ ““Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God!” Luke‬ ‭1:30‬ ‭

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
