Use Your Words For Good!

“The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive.” Proverbs‬ ‭16:21‬ ‭

We often think that our words and what we say to people doesn't matter, but it does. If words did not matter, we would not pray with words. We use words for prayer. Something I learned a few years ago was what we speak is how things will go. Growing up my mom always taught be to never lie about a sickness because I would find myself sick. As a child I remember lying that I had a headache once, later on that day I did have one. That might not seem like much, but I learned that day that what I do say matters. Your words have power. When speaking to, and about others or even yourself, choose to show kindness with your words. Let what you say always be uplifting. Today, uplift others and yourself with your words. It truly does matter. Your words can help or destroy others. Use your words for the greater good! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Wise words satisfy like a good meal; the right words bring satisfaction.”Proverbs‬ ‭18:20‬ ‭ “Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭10:12‬ ‭ “The words of the godly are a life-giving fountain; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions.” Proverbs‬ ‭10:11‬ ‭ “So encourage each other with these words.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
