Jesus Is The Reason.

“She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.” Luke‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭

It's Christmas Eve. In the morning, we will all open our presents and spend time with our families. As kids, we could barley sleep out of excitement for what the next day would hold and which gifts we would receive that year. As we grow older, we are more excited to give than to receive. We need to remember that it is so nice to receive gifts, and even better to give the perfect gift but what matters is that we recognize today is the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus. He was born in a manger to save all of creation. Today, celebrate Jesus and His birth. Enjoy time with your family remembering the real reason for what you gather together for. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” Luke‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭ “The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” Luke‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭ “For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.” Colossians‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭ “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,” Philippians‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
