Make Room For Jesus!
“She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.” Luke 2:7
One of the main things we remember from the story of Jesus' birth is that there was no room for Him. We live each day acting the same way those did. We say we don't have time to read a devotional every day, say a prayer, or go to church on Sunday but in reality, we make time for what we want. Why is it that we continue to act as though there is no room for Him? Jesus was born in what now is a barn, where we'd feed our farm animals. The one who came to save us couldn't even find a nice warm home to be born in. There's a verse that we all think of a lot that says If the world hates you remember it hated me first. We have to remember how the world treated Jesus. Why put this world over Jesus? Nothing is worth losing our souls. Today, make room for Jesus. There is room in the inn for Him. Don't be like this world full of hate, and don't try to fit in this hateful world. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”” Luke 6:38 “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” James 4:8 “Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23 ““If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.” John 15:18
