Sing His Praises!

“For this, O Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing praises to your name.” Psalms‬ ‭18:49‬ ‭

One of my favorite things in life is the sunset. After we go through things we learn to appreciate the small things like seeing a sunset. I saw the most beautiful sunset the other day, it reminded me of some song lyrics. "If creation sings Your praises, so will I." Why can we not sing like creation does for Him then what are we? We say we want an eternity with God but how can we expect to praise Him forever if we can't now? Today, find the small things to praise God about. Even if it's just that you see the sunset, hear the birds singing, or just a random thing happens, thank God. The Bible says that if we don't praise Him, the rocks will cry out. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth!” Psalms‬ ‭66:1‬ ‭ “Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord.” Luke‬ ‭1:46‬ ‭ “Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises.” Psalms‬ ‭66:8‬ ‭ “My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!” Psalms‬ ‭57:7‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
