The Real Gifts We Need.
“Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!” 2 Corinthians 9:15
Jesus was, is, and forever will be the greatest gift this earth could ever wish for. But we each have things we do wish for in life. This Christmas season has been an odd one for me so far. After being sick for four days, I have officially tested positive for Covid. Although I did not get to celebrate in the way I thought I would, I have spent more time in prayer. This year I have learned it's not about the things we make it out to be, it's about celebrating Jesus, and worshipping Him. I have learned that we sometimes focus on the things that don't mean as much as we think, but instead the small stuff. Good health, happiness, contentment, peace, and hope are the things we really wish for in the Christmas season. That is what we are searching for, not something that can be wrapped and placed under a tree. Today, celebrate Jesus knowing the gifts we truly wish for can only be found through Him. Here are some verses to reflect on today. ““I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27 “Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you,” John 17:7 “However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ.” Ephesians 4:7 “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
