Change Can Start Today!

“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.”James‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭

You don't have to change before you go to God, going to Him is what changes you. I read a quote once that said why would we cleanse ourselves before we shower when that is what cleanses us? Why do we think we need to change before we can gain a relationship with God when the relationship is what changes us. When we find a relationship with God we begin to feel convicted to change into better versions of ourselves, we then become better than what we once were. God cleanses us of those sins we once committed. We are changed once we develop the relationship with God. He will show you the things you need to change if you truly humble yourself before Him. Today, draw near to God even if you haven't changed those things you feel you need to, the change can start today if you draw close to God. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “No one can tell it anything; it refuses all correction. It does not trust in the Lord or draw near to its God.” Zephaniah‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭ “You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right.” Romans‬ ‭14:22‬ ‭ “For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.” Hebrews‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭ “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
