You Don't Have To Be In Control!

“Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.” Matthew‬ ‭8:26‬ ‭

We all feel the need to constantly be in control of situations and things in life, but at some point coming to the conclusion that God is in control is a good thing. We all deal with the need to be in control, and sometimes it bothers us when we aren't. We want to choose what job we have, the school our children or even ourselves will attend, where we will live, what car we will drive, when things will happen, even how things will happen, but life doesn't always work that way. Sometimes it's best that we don't know every detail. I remember this time last year I was praying for a miracle in my life, God made a promise to me that it would come to pass. I sat and wondered a lot on how or when it would happen and I would ask God for details. He responded to me and said, "The day it will happen you will not even know it when you wake up." That told me that I did not need to know the details ahead of time. Looking back at the situation now that it's over, it's best I didn't know. I would have taken things into my own hands and made it happen my way, and on my timing. Today, whatever God has promised you know that it will come to pass, but you will not be in control of how and when that will happen. Sometimes it's best to leave things up to God, after all He does know and see all things! He has our best interest in mind. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:6‬  ‭ “The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness.” Psalms‬ ‭145:17‬ ‭ “I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course.” Jeremiah‬ ‭10:23‬ ‭ ““The Lord your God is with you,” he declared. “He has given you peace with the surrounding nations. He has handed them over to me, and they are now subject to the Lord and his people.” 1 Chronicles‬ ‭22:18‬ ‭
