Your Past, Is Just That!

“Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.”” Romans‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭

Your past is what is behind you, it is who you were not who you are now, or where you are headed to. We so often have more guilt and blame ourselves more than God does. We carry around a baggage that wasn't meant to be carried. We think that the mistakes we have made define us. I am here to tell you today that is a lie from the enemy. Nothing you have ever done defines who you are! Jesus came down to earth, sacrificed His life so that we are free from sin and have a heavenly home someday. We aren't bound to anything. We are free! Your past is behind you, it has nothing to do with your future other than a lesson learned. Today, know that you are free. When I say walk in freedom today I mean walk in life knowing you are forgiven and the baggage is no longer yours. God threw your sins in the ocean and never looked back at them, so neither should you! If God had forgiven you then forgive yourself! Here are some verses to reflect on today. “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans‬ ‭3:23‬ ‭ “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” Colossians‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭ “who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” Colossians‬ ‭1:1 “Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!” Micah‬ ‭7:19‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. The waiting is important and a lesson is somewhere in the midst. Today, whatever it is God is having you wait for know that the season of waiting is often a time you look back on as a blessing. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also. When God gives us what we are praying for we need to shout from the rooftops that God done it for us, that He made a way. We need to thank God, telling everyone about it.
