You're Not Alone!

“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.”James‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭

Have you ever noticed that the closer you get to God the less the people you used to surround yourself with come around? It's just apart of it, as we grow closer to God we become isolated in a way, to where we are no longer stuck in the same places that once tempted us. If we hangout with everyone from our past when we once lives in sin we would end up right back where we were. Although Jesus sat and ate with sinners, He never sinned with them. If we put ourselves in a place to be tempted are we sure we have enough self control? We cannot expect to live in sin and yet grow closer to God. Growing closer to God is realizing things that make us feel convicted and letting those things go. Today, know that if you're feeling alone that it might be a good thing. It could be a sign that you're walking into the new part of your walk with God. You aren't alone when you have God no matter where you are. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭ “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans‬ ‭3:23‬ ‭ “Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.”James‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭ “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
