Don't Force It!

“I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.”” Psalms‬ ‭40:8‬ ‭

Sometimes we try to jump ahead of God and choose what we think is best for ourselves. We force things to be the way that we want them to be even if it isn't what God has for us. We often try to convince ourselves that people, places and situations are best for us even after God has shown us that it isn't. We have to come to a place in our lives where we let go of what we think is best and let God have His will in our lives. We will never become all that we can be if we constantly hold on to things that aren't meant for us. I think of Jesus in the garden praying, He did not want to go through with the pain that was to come, but He knew it was something that would change everything. Instead of choosing what His flesh wanted, He chose to pray and let God have His way! We have to do that everyday with every circumstance. Today, ask God to have His way in your life, even if that means letting go of things that aren't meant for you. Here are some verses to reflect on today. ““Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”” Luke‬ ‭22:42‬ “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”Hebrews‬ ‭10:23‬ ‭ “We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:4‬ “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭
