It's Monday!

“You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”” Matthew‬ ‭21:22‬ ‭

Today in the Holy Week is Monday. The morning after Palm Sunday came, Jesus was hungry and passed by a fig tree. He went over to the fig tree to see if it had any figs, but it only had leaves. Jesus then said to it, "May you never bear fruit again." Immediately, the fig tree withered up. The disciples questioned how the fig tree withered up so quickly, Jesus told them, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, 'May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith you will receive it." That was a lesson for all of us to speak things by faith, by the name of Jesus and to pray over things. We have to speak with faith. Jesus went to the temple also on the day after Palm Sunday. He went into the Temple and began teaching. The leading priest and elders came up to Him and demanded to know what authority He was doing all these things by. Jesus told them that He would tell them if they could answer one question. He asked them, "Did John's authority to baptize come from heaven or was it merely human?" They talked it over with each other and said that they didn't know Jesus told them that He wouldn't answer their question then. Jesus also cleansed the Temple by driving out those who were selling things at the Temple. He flipped the tables of those selling doves. Today, take time to read what each day of Holy Week is about. This is such an important week to understand the events leading up to Resurrection Sunday. We have to remember that not everyone believed in Jesus the way we do, in today's reading even the priest questioned Him we see. We also have to noice that the disciples wanted to know how He done things at times. Jesus also was angered when people done wrong, although He was compassionate towards others He also was honest in telling them their wrong doings. Today, I am sure each of us can learn something from this week that maybe we didn't know about Holy Week before. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves.” Matthew‬ ‭21:12‬ ‭ “and he noticed a fig tree beside the road. He went over to see if there were any figs, but there were only leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” And immediately the fig tree withered up.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:19‬ ‭ “The disciples were amazed when they saw this and asked, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?”” Matthew‬ ‭21:20‬ ‭ “Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.” Matthew‬ ‭21:21‬ ‭
