It's Saturday.
“From heaven you sentenced your enemies; the earth trembled and stood silent before you.” Psalms 76:8
Saturday is here. It was the Sabbath, the leading priests and Pharisees went to see Pilate. They told him that they remembered a deceiver once that said Jesus had said after three days He would raise to life again. They then requested that the tomb be sealed until the third day. That way the disciples wouldn't be able to come and steal Jesus away and tell everyone He was risen. Pilate allowed the guards to go and secure it the best that they could, and they sealed the tomb off and guards stood watch to protect it. Saturday was silent, everyone thought the enemy had won the battle. Jesus was gone, the wicked world had won. They couldn't see any hope in tomorrow because for today nothing seemed to be happening. Today, it might be a Saturday in your life, silent and seems hopeless but just know Sunday is still coming. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Pilate replied, “Take guards and secure it the best you can.”” Matthew 27:65 “So the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say. Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today.” Matthew 28:15 “So they sealed the tomb and posted guards to protect it.”Matthew 27:66 “O God, do not be silent! Do not be deaf. Do not be quiet, O God.”Psalms 83:1
