It's Sunday!

“And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him.” Matthew‬ ‭28:9‬ ‭

Early Sunday morning as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to visit the tomb where Jesus was. Suddenly there was an earthquake, an angel of the Lord came down from Heaven and rolled the stone away. His face shined like lightening, and His clothes were white as snow. The guards that had been placed shook with fear. The angel spoke and told them, don't be afraid! I know you are looking for Jesus but He isn't here. He has risen, just as He had said He would! Come and see where He was! The angel instructed them to go see the disciples and to tell them that Jesus had risen. The women ran, they were scared but also full of joy! As they went to tell the disciples Jesus met them, they ran to Him and grasped His feet and worshiped Him! Then Jesus said to them, "Don't be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee and they will see me there!" The guards went into the city and told the leading priest what had happened, a meeting was called and they gave the soldiers a large bribe to say the disciples had stolen Jesus' body. The said the government would hear what had happened but the priest would stand up for the guards. The guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told, their story spread around to the Jews. The eleven disciples headed to Galilee to meet Jesus. They were going up to the mountain where Jesus had told them and they saw Him. They worshiped Him, but some doubted! Jesus came and told them that He had been given all authority in heaven and earth. He told the disciples to go and make disciples of all the nations and to baptize people in His name. Jesus told them He was with them always. Today, we celebrated Resurrection Sunday. We all have to remember the real meaning of it has nothing to do with a bunny, eggs or candy but something much deeper. Jesus has risen and taken all sin, doubt, fear and shame away from us. He was the perfect lamb, He has freed us. We should use that freedom for the good, and build the Kingdom of God! Let God use you in ways to uplift the spirits of others and bring others to Christ. Today is the reminder we are not slaves to any world thing, instead we are free in Jesus! Tell the whole world what Jesus has done for us! Here are some verses to reflect on today! “Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.” Matthew‬ ‭28:1‬ ‭ “He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.” Matthew‬ ‭28:6‬ ‭ “So the guards accepted the bribe and said what they were told to say. Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today.” Matthew‬ ‭28:15‬ ‭ “Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.” Matthew‬ ‭28:18‬ ‭
