Be Yourself, Always!
“Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.” Galatians 1:10
Being different isn't a bad thing. Growing up we fear not fitting in the crowd at school and social events. Over time we learn that fitting in is kind of overrated. If we spend our entire lives trying to fit in then how will we ever be who we are meant to be. We all have a crowd that being ourselves we will naturally fit into. God didn't design us to have to be like others to fit in. I think about how Abraham would lie and say his wife was his sister to kings out of fear that they wouldn't welcome him. Lying about who we are to ourselves and others to fit in doesn't end with us fitting in with those people. Instead be yourself and those you fit in with it will be those God has meant to be in your life. You never have to change to have someone in your life, always remember God will have the perfect people for you. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12 “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16
