We Are Not Self-Made.

“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”James‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭

We tend to find ourselves boasting about how we made things happen for ourselves, when in reality nothing that we have is because of something we could do on our own. God has a purpose for us, and whatever that maybe He will bless us in what His plans are. We cannot be so confident in ourselves that we forget that nothing we have is through ourselves, the reality is that we are receiving blessings from God. He made things happen for us, and we ourselves are only a vessel in the midst. Today, be boastful in knowing God is the reason you have made it this far. Every good and perfect gift is from above, and only God can give us that. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.” John‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭ “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭ “Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:6‬ ‭ “May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”Psalms‬ ‭115:15‬ ‭

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
