Stay Quiet, Let God Speak!

“Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Interlude” Psalms‬ ‭4:4‬ 

‭Sometimes staying silent is the best thing we can do. When we stay quiet around others we are letting God speak instead. It's easy to speak out with anger and frustration, what is more difficult is staying quiet and letting God take care of what you can't. You don't always have to speak with your anger, you can choose to let God talk for you. Not everything in life needs to be answered, sometimes you just need to sit back and let God work in your life and that be enough of an answer. Today, let God speak. Stay silent. Here are some verses to reflect on today. “A truly wise person uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered.” Proverbs‬ ‭17:27‬ ‭ “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” Isaiah‬ ‭54:17‬ ‭ “Wise words bring approval, but fools are destroyed by their own words.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭10:12‬ ‭ “Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.” Proverbs‬ ‭10:19‬

Wait Patiently!

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭ If God is making you wait, then wait patiently. Nothing in the waiting is a waste. I remember a time in my life where I was praying for something, I waited years and seem to receive no answer. I waited and waited. Somedays I was impatient and cried all day, other days I waited with patience of steel and praised God for what I knew I would someday receive. Sometimes the waiting is easy, other times it is an uphill battle. Whenever we are waiting we will go through different seasons, but we can count on the fact that God is at work for us. Don't Forget God!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ Don't forget God when you receive what you are praying for. God knows the things that we want the most, and often times He does give us what we want. When God does give us the things we want we have to stop and give thanks. It's like this, if you give someone a gift that you know they have really been wanting, something they will absolutely love, and they don't even say thank you it would hurt your feelings. It would make you feel like they don't appreciate you. If someone asked how they got the gift and they said they got it for themselves it would make you hurt also.
