“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” John‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭ We have a farm and we raise sheep at it, we had one born about a month ago and the mother rejected her. My dad has been bottle-feeding her, and I have learned so much. The Bible tells us that the sheep know God's voice. There is one voice our sheep, Joy, will answer to, and that is my dad. She thinks he is her shepherd who feeds and cares for her and recognizes his voice over everyone. We have to remind ourselves to tune out every voice expect our Father's. When the world is loud, make sure that His voice is the one you're listening to. Many can try to lead you to do things, but the only way you know if it's right is to ask God. You cannot let the voices of your bae, mom, dad, brother, sister, friends, family, coworkers, or anyone be louder than the voice of God! I have clung to these words in some pretty dark moments. Today, I viewed this in a new way, when I grabbed my car keys I realized in my wallet I had a card with a quote on it from my devotional quote cards, and the quote was, "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it." I thought about this quote throughout the day and tonight I thought of how the Israelites and Moses were faced with a problem, they came to the Red Sea and were being chased, but God parted the Red Sea for them. God will make a way when there seems to be no way, know that God is for you not against you. Today, if you're facing a time when it seems like the light won't shine again, know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and God does have amazing plans for you. “For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:17‬  ‭I read about the fruits of the Spirit today, and as I went down the list of all the things that we each need to have I realized that none of them would be nearly impossible to have if we don't first have self-control. The only way we can train ourselves to withstand the temptations of the enemy. When you learn to truly have self-control then you will realize how God can truly work through you. We oftentimes expect God to step in and immediately take our temptations away, but He doesn't. He lets us be tempted but He gives us a way out also. Jesus was tempted in every way possible but still never sinned. We can each gain self-control if we only teach ourselves to turn from sin and do good things. Sometimes in those situations we want to force the outcome to be what we want, but it's best to let go and let God. Life can be complicated at times but God knows the answer to all things. I've always been fascinated with lighthouses and how the sailors used them as a compass and a light to see the way. Sometimes life can seem dark, where we cannot see the light of which way to turn, but Jesus is our lighthouse and faith is the compass. I began to pray that God would heal me from that fear. You have to guard your mind, because thoughts become actions. You must learn to guard your mind to have a pure life. Your mind will tell your heart what to do, and everything in life flows from your heart. Although we go to God in prayer and ask for His mercy and forgiveness, it is not something that is earned over time, or bought through our good deeds, it is free, thanks to our Savior Jesus Christ. We each make mistakes, sometimes every day, but the Bible says that His mercies renew every morning. You cannot buy or earn forgiveness, Jesus came down to the earth to give you a gift money cannot and will never be able to buy. Today, focus on your mind and make sure your thoughts are to glorify God and not to glorify you or sin. You can train your mind to think about about what is needed but cannot undo your actions. You cannot focus more on someone else's salvation than your own. Although our purpose, is to spread the Gospel to everyone that we can, it's also important to work on our own salvation. You cannot expect to walk into being a minister, teacher, and someone who spreads the Gospel if you don't know God. When trying to help someone find God don't lose Him for yourself. Sometimes while we are trying to influence someone to see the change in you, they're influencing you to the same change you just came from.
